Wisconsin Sports Report 4/15/18

It was a mind numbing weekend filled with binge drinking, snow storms (actual snow) and substance abuse in Oshkosh and when it comes to sports there wasn’t a whole lot of positives.  I’m hungover, slightly medicated and running on five hours of sleep since Friday so bare with me folks.

Mets Take Two Out of Three From the Brewers

Zach Davies took one to the chin Friday as he gave up five runs in four and a third.  He surrendered seven hits including a pair solo homers to Todd Frazier and was on the frazier.jpghook fro the L.  I can proudly say I announced to the party that Braun was goin’ big fly in the sixth but the comeback came up just short as the Mets finished off the Crew 6-5.  The one big bright spot on Friday was the Bullpen.  Jennings, Drake and Barnes came together to give up two hits and a single run in relief as Perez led the team offensively going 2-4 with two RBI coming off of a home run in the fourth.  The Mets sent Steven Matz out to the hill and he got the win going five and a third and giving up three earned.  Todd Frazier paved the way for the Mets as he dropped dick on a pair of belt high fastballs.  Frazier finished the day 3-3 with the two solo shots.

If your dick doesn’t wiggle even a little bit checking out the pitching box score from Saturday then your a liar and a fake fan.  Chase Anderson started the day off lasting six hader.jpgand a third while scattering a pair of hits and striking out five.  Jeremy Jeffress got the hold in two thirds of an inning of work and Josh Hader was given the keys to the eighth and ninth.  Hader was DEALING striking out the first five batters he faced before forcing Jay Bruce to fly out to center while getting the six out save.  It was all about the long ball for Milwaukee as Shaw, Bandy and Arcia all took their respective pitchers deep.  Offensively, New York couldn’t seem to find the right pitch as they scattered three hits.  Brewers take game two 5-1.

Noah Syndergard is fucking disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed to do this.

That was his 97 mph fastball boys and girls (lol as if any girls actually read this bullshit).  Eric Thames’ reaction says it all.  Twitter had a fuckin field day with this one as it blew up on all of the popular sports social accounts.  My personal favorite is from Megan.

Internet gold my dear, love it.  I didn’t get a chance to watch the game with the Bucks playing at the same time but it seems as though I didn’t miss a whole lot as the two teams combined for only 11 total hits and five total runs in a Mets walkoff 3-2 victory.  Syndergard lasted five and a third but set down eleven Brewers on strikes.  Although he didn’t get the decision, it was a dominant performance and if it were’t for the Mets offense taking a shit.  They were going down in order for the last three innings until floresthere were two outs left in the ninth for Wilmer Flores.  Flores took a Matt Albers sinker up and out for the dub.  Albers decided it was a great idea to feed Albers not one, not two, not three, but four sinkers in a row.  Good fucking idea.

Not a bad series in hindsight for The Crew.  Dropping two of three to a Mets team who has been boarder line perfect thus far this season.  A pair of one run losses paired with a win is a good sign of things to come.  Next up, Cincy.

Celtics Take Game 1 Despite Middleton Heroics

Man, ya hate to see it folks.  Game one of the Bucks/Celtics series was a wild ride.  After the end of the first the Bucks found themselves down 29-17 and were being completely outplayed.  That quickly changed as the Bucks charged back, winning the second quarter by a score of 30-16.  With the Bucks leading 47-45 at half things were looking good but as Wisconsin sports fans know, you can’t ever get complacent.  Boston took back the lead in the third and headed to the fourth.  In a back and forth fourth quarter we found the game tied after a Brogdon three with only ten seconds remaining in the game.  On the ensuing drive Terry Rozier snatched Eric Bledsoe’s ankles with one of the nastiest step backs these peepers have ever seen.

The disrespect here is outrageous.  Rozier should have to sit at least game two and three but I don’t see these sanctions being handed down.  The TD Garden went silent just minutes later as the Bucks had .5 seconds left to put up a shot, inbounding 35 feet from the basket.  Gus Johnson, take it away my dude.

What a fuckin’ electric factory.  always the best from Gus.  That shot was reviewed and confirmed and we were headed to OT.  Going in the Bucks had foul trouble.  Giannis had bari.jpgfour as Middleton and Bledsoe had five.  It ended up biting us in the ass as both of them ended up fouling out late as the Celtics ended up getting the win (and some calls) 113-107.  There were some really questionable shots including an easily blockable drive from Brogdon and then Snell, who had five seconds on the shot clock, flung up a three that clanged off the iron.  A questionable foul on Giannis was the end all be all as he fouled out with 13 seconds left down by three.  Terry Rozier had the final five points at the line to put Milwaukee away in game one.  Giannis finished the night with 35/13/7 with three steals.  Middleton added 31 and Brogdon 16 as none of the other Bucks cracked double digits.  The one stat that stood out to me was that Middleton was +11 and Snell was -17.  Maybe less minutes for Tony next game.  Jabari only saw 15 minutes in his playoff debut going one of five shooting but did grab four rebounds.  Need more minutes from him.  Game two is on deck for Tuesday in Boston.giannis.jpg

Bucks vs Celtics Playoff Preview

It’s that time of the year again folks.  Playoff time.  For Milwaukee, we are still searching for our first playoff series victory since 2001.  For Boston, they are looking to make an underdog run at a return appearance to Conference Finals.  The road will be difficult as they will be without their bread and butter, Kyrie Irving.  Since Irving left the team in March, they have been 9-7.  If there was ever a scenario for Milwaukee to sneak into the second round it was this matchup.

Boston had yet another strong season this year taking second in the Atlantic.  It was all set to be their year in the East until newly acquired forward Gordon Hayward busted Milwaukee Bucks v Boston Celtics

his shit night one.  Honestly one of the nastier injuries I’ve watched live.  They did bounce back without him posting strong numbers until losing Kyrie Irving for the season about a month ago.  Now it’s up to rookie Jason Tatum, second year player Jaylen Brown and veteran Al Horford to lead this team.  Tatum has had a great Freshman campaign postingfourteen points and five boards a night well playing over thirty minutes.  Brown’s numbers almost mimicked Tatum’s as he had a much improved second season.  Horford is now 31 and saw his numbers fall from past seasons.  The Celtics found depth to be their best friend as they had eight different players average double figures.gregmonroe

We will see familiar face Greg Monroe who has been hot of late boasting 14/7/4 over the past five games.  Along with Monroe, Terry Rozier has also come along as a strong bench threat.  He doubled his per game averages and in March he put up 17 a night with five boards and four dimes.  He has since cooled off but will be a key part if the Celtics want to make a run.

Per usual this season was a roller coaster for our Milwaukee Bucks.  We graduated from the “Kidd Age” and have since moved on to better things.  When Kidd left the gianniscelticsorganization, the team was 23-22 and had no identity and couldn’t figure out how to be the team they could be.  Under Prunty the Bucks were 21-16 and were never even at full strength.  Now with everyone returning, we’re going to see a totally different team.  henson.jpgDepending how Prunty sets the rotation, there should always be two shooters on the floor which should help clear the lane for dribble drives.

Defensively the Bucks won’t need to worry about Kyrie but will need to keep an eye on Tatum and Horford who both shoot over 40% from three.  It’s going to come down to Giannis, the NBA is a superstar’s league and we have a truly legit one in Antetokounmpo.  Our bench will be the other factor.

We now have eight guards that have all proven helpful at some point this season.  Our obvious hole is going to be the front court.  Thon, Henson, Zeller and Jabari will have to show some nuts with the brutes they’ll have to matchup against.

Prediction – Bucks in Six

Wisconsin Sports Report AKA Brewers Have Whiskey Dick

Yea it was only the Brew Crew in action tonight for game two in St. Louis. Crazy how different the lineup looks without Cain and Yelich. Things started great in the first with a Thames homer. Suter also looked capable as well going over five and surrendering a single run and four hits. The bullpen seemed to be able to hold true until the dreaded ninth inning.

In the of of the ninth Thames landed a double in the corner and was eventually brought home on a RBI knock from Santana. The Crew headed to the final half leading by one.

After Williams (who has nasty flow only matched by a nastier lip caterpillar) was yanked they went to Jacob Barnes to get the save. All of that went to shit as Barnes lost all control and brought in the tying run on a wild pitch. First blown save.

Fast forward to the top of the tenth as Orlando Arica brings in what could be yet again the game winning run with a single. Back to the bottom of the inning, enter in JJ Hoover. Bang! Before you could breathe it was blown save numero dos of the night! DOS! THATS TWO FOR YOU UNCULTURED FUCKS!

After a scoreless top of the eleventh the Brewers decided to send out this bum once again and surprise surprise, walkoff city for the Cards. Third time without Knebel that the pen has blown a one run lead. Just bad news bears.

Fuck me, game three tomorrow folks. First taste of Junior Guerra’s 2018 campaign.

Wisconsin Sports Report 4/9/18

Another sweep around the state tonight as the Brewers and Bucks snagged victories.  In Milwaukee, we saw the return of last year’s ROY Malcolm Brogdon.  Along with that was the capping off of the shitty existence of the Bradley Center.  The building itself had a good run but the Buck’s have had little to no true success with it as their home floor.  Can’t wait for the new stadium.  Looks badass.

Brewers Manage to Avoid Blown Game

It seems as though every game is coming down until the very end and tonight was no different as The Crew slipped by the Cardinals to steal game one on the road.  Thebrewin Brewers jumped on St. Louis starter Miles Mikolas in the second inning thanks in part to a RBI double from Arcia and another RBI from Santana.  It was in perfect fashion that Jhoulys Chachin got roughed up for three runs in less than five on 80+ pitches.  This guy needs to get sent down to Nashville.  Sheeeeesh.  The Brewers did however go into the bottom of the ninth with the lead and yet again they give up a run with a chance to end it with a ground ball.  Luckily Greg Holland decided to lose hiss fucking mind in the tenth and walked four batters which walked in the go ahead and eventually game winning run.  What a fucky way to end it.  Game two is tomorrow with Suter heading to the mound to face Martinez who ass blasted Milwaukee last week going over eight scoreless in a win.  Cards sit currently +1.5 in Vegas.

Bucks Slide Into Sixth Seed

With a 102-86 win paired with a Heat loss to the Thunder, Milwaukee sits at the sixth bledsoeseed in the East with only one game left on the schedule.  It was all about Eric Bledsoe tonight as he finished with a triple double with 20/12/11.  Muhammad added 22 and Middleton and Jabari gave the Bucks the right kind of boost tonight.  The final game of the season will be Wednesday against likely first round opponent, Philadelphia.  Oh how I would love to see us crush the process.  Simmons vs Giannis would be a fantastic matchup as well.

Farewell BMO Harris Bradley Centerbmo

It was cool for a time but was definitely used and abused for years.  Concerts, Basketball, Hockey, Football and countless other events littered it’s schedule every year.  Now a new age.  The next big thing in Wisconsin.  Hopefully we can get some banners in this new place.

Mother Nature is a Real Bitch if it Rains Saturday

So as many of you know this Saturday is the biyearly tradition that is known as the Oshkosh Pub Crawl. For myself, it means a house full of people who may or may not have asked to stay. It means throwing money down on a barrel or two of ice cold Natural Light. It means a 48 hour shitshow of binging as the daylight bleeds into night.

This year, as so many before it, the forecast calls for rain. Not only rain, but it calls for a high temp of 36 degrees.

Fuck folks, fuck. The real kick in the dick is the back to back maybe not perfect but 50 degree days leading up until Friday. I’m not saying that my plans of barrels and shackers won’t happen, but I’m getting sick of Wisconsin Aprils postponing darty weather till mid May.

Wisconsin Sports Report 4/5/18

It was a relatively slow Wednesday here in The Heartland.  The Brewers took one to the chin against the Cards to drop the rubber match of the series while the Badger Woman’s Hockey team set a high for their sport.

Brewers Fall to Cards in Game 3

pi-wi-brewers-cardinals-yelich-040418.vadapt.767.high.47It was a rough night in Milwaukee.  I’m also deciding to be the conductor of the “Fuck Jhoulys Chacin” train.  It was another terrible showing by the Brewer’s newest addition to the rotation as he allowed four earned through just under six innings.  He can’t seem to keep batters from getting on base as he allowed seven hits and two walks.  Offensively, Milwaukee only had five hits and couldn’t push a single run across.  A 6-0 loss in a finale is tough but it’s time to shake it the fuck off and welcome in the Cubbies for what should be, the best set the league has seen thus far.

Wisconsin Women Set a Top Mark for Woman’s Hockey

labahn.jpegToday it was announced that the Wisconsin Woman’s Hockey team led the NCAA in attendance this past season.  2,265 was the number set this season and was over 500 more people than second place, little sister Minnesota.  The ladies play in LaBahn Arena which holds only 2,273.  That means, on a given night there was 99.6% of the arena full.  Those are mind-blowing numbers.

Is Odell About to be a Patriot?

So for those of you who have tuned out the NFL for some stupid reason, there was a HUGE trade with major implications.  The New England Patriots sent a fourth round pick packaged with 24 year old receiver Brandin Cooks to the LA Rams.  In return Newcooks.jpg England received the Ram’s #23 overall pick along with a sixth rounder.  Now the Pats are left with some major holes at the receiver position but as history tells us, Tom Brady will find a way.  One rumor that instantly arose was that OBJ is valued at two first rounders and now New England has a pair of them.  Right away my thought is that there is no way Ole Bill is gunna roll the dice on a headcase like Beckham.  However, there is a really tight timetable for the Patriots to snag one or two more rings with Brady under center and the Rams are making it obvious that they are going all in on the next two years to chase a title.  The Washington Redskins v New York GiantsRams now are out of the Beckham sweepstakes and will most likely lay low until the season starts.  With the pressure from LA it could lead to some desperate moves from the front office, who have already expressed that they don’t care what Belichick thinks and will make decisions without his consent (Jimmy G).

Now looking at it from New York’s perspective.  You retain your second pick while adding two late first rounders.  You also hold the 34th pick as well.  Nothing better for a rebuild than having four of the first 34 picks.  I can’t think of a better option for this team but again, it’s a rumor and as we know the NFL is unpredictable as all holy hell.
