Today was a GREAT day. Lets dive in.
You love to start a season with a win. Even if that means blowing a save in the ninth. Milwaukee took game one of three on Thursday afternoon as they defeated the San Diego Padres 2-1. The bats were silent for the crew until our new baby boy Christian Yelich drove in a run with an RBI single in the third. Chris Anderson led the crew on the bump finishing with six innings pitched, only a single hit while shutting them out. He looked great against a mediocre Padres lineup.
Everything seemed to be going smooth for Milwaukee until some little speed demon pinch ran in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. First, he took second right away. Knebel didn’t even peek over as Matt Szczur swiped second and later scored on an RBI single shortly after. Never love a blown save on day one but it easily could have been avoided.
So after a few scoreless frames Milwaukee found themselves in the top of inning number twelve with nobody on and nobody out. They pinch hit a guy who had possibly the best spring out of anyone, JI-Man Choi. Choi answered the bell and ripped a double and set up Orlando Arcia’s go ahead single in the next at back. Jeremey Jeffress got the dub in relief. I’ve got an incredible story that involves said pitcher and a half pound of grass but that’s for another blog. Would have loved to see Anderson get the much-deserved win but I can live with this kind of outing from our “ace”.
Daaaaaaamn Bucks ya looked really good there tonight! The Curryless Warriors struggled once Kevin Durant was ejected for the fifth time this season in the second quarter. I’m gunna side with KD because Giannis was alllllll over him defensively but being the baby back little bitch he is, he complained a bit too much and was slapped with a double tech and was told to hit the fuckin* showers. After that Milwaukee went on a 16-0 run spanning the second into the third quarter. Shots were falling everywhere for Milwaukee as the Bucks shot 55% from the field AND from three. Those lights out numbers quickly piled on a lead in the fourth which, at it’s best, grew to 24 points. The Warriors managed to pull within nine in the final two minutes but it wouldn’t be enough as the Bucks take this one 116-107.
Giannis led the way with 32/5/4 while going 14-18 from the floor. Pretty wild shooting night all around. Banged a pair of threes too. What now bitch our 7ft Guardcenter can snipe. The NBA is sweating.
The Bucks got big games from Bledsoe and Middleton as they each had over 20 in the victory.
The Henson/Zeller debate continued as Henson got the start and played 25 minutes scoring four points and only collecting five rebounds. Just horrific from stretch. Zeller came off the bench again and played 23 minutes accumulating seven points, eight boards and four assists. Not to mention he was responsible for a pair of steals as well. Zeller continues to play much better than Henson and its frustrating as hell that Zeller doesn’t get minutes with the one’s. Next up for the Deer is LA tonight! Currently we’re the eight seed and are a half game back of the Heat. Fuck
