In arguably the least surprising move ever the Edmondton Oilers gave their 20 year old phenom Connor McDavid an 8 year contract extension that will pay him $12.5 million per year. McDavid was the league MVP last season after being the only player in the league to account for 100 points. After only playing 45 games his rookie year due to injury, Connor exploded on to the scene with 30 goals and 70 assists this year. McDavid now sits as the third highest paid player in the league behind the likes of Shea Webber and Alex Ovechkin. Not bad company for a dude who would normally be a Junior in college.
